During this time of year, many of us embark on special visits to parks, gardens, or trails where the leaves of trees transform into a brilliant array of colors. We gaze in awe at the #vibrant foliage, capture numerous photos, and eagerly share them on our social media.
Have you ever paused to ponder what happens after the leaves change color? They gracefully fall from the trees, leaving them bare and devoid of their lush canopy. Without leaves, these trees are unable to draw the nourishment they need. As the harsh, frigid winter sets in, with wind chills plummeting into negative double-digits, the absence of the protective leaf blanket can be quite uncomfortable for the trees. Some may have observed that the tree’s bark toughens up and changes color during this harsh winter cycle.
One might say, “Well, it happens every year, and trees must be accustomed to it by now.” Indeed, it does occur annually, but can one ever truly become accustomed to difficult times? Spring brings hope, summer offers beautiful enjoyment, and fall may bring a sense of melancholy. Winters can be challenging and unforgiving. Still, year after year we see trees get bigger and taller.
As many would rightly point out, this is the way nature has designed it for the trees. But isn’t there a parallel in the #cycles-of-human-life? We, too, have our own seasons and cycles. How well do we understand these patterns? If we pay close attention, we may realize that our lives are also characterized by #cyclical phases. Our cycles may not impact universally, but they do exist and do affect each and every one of us, regardless of race, gender, color, religion, etc. Identifying and understanding our #individual-life-cycles can potentially help us navigate the inevitable moments of anxiety.
Those of us who have gained some life experience over the years can reflect on our individual journeys, pondering the twists and turns, and how much of it was #within our control.
Let us appreciate the wisdom that nature imparts and may it guide us in embracing the ever-changing seasons of our lives. #Live life to the fullest and allow these cycles to take their course.
